A Hot Air Balloon club run by its members for its members.
 

A group of local guys and girls who had an interest in hot air ballooning decided to re-form ‘The Oswestry Balloon Club’ which originated in 1988 until its’ demise in 2001 – primarily due to the atrocity of Foot and Mouth in this area. 
 

In June 2017 Oswestry Balloon Club was formed and we meet every 2nd Thursday of the month at Mile-end Golf Club

We are a local ballooning club for local people.  If you have an interest in hot air balloons – whether it be helping to crew, learning to become a pilot or simply enjoying just being around these spectacular aerostats, then feel free to join us.  We are dedicated to making Hot Air Ballooning accessible to all who wish to participate in the sport in our area.

Oswestry Balloon Club is open to all – please complete our Membership Application Form and pay your subscription.

We meet on the second Thursday of the month at Mile-end Golf Club, Oswestry.  

The emphasis at the meetings is on good fellowship and the opportunity to meet others interested in our sport.

Whilst we are still in our infancy, our meetings will primarily work around getting to understand the equipment and for all members to understand each other’s objectives of being part of our club.  Hopefully, once we establish some balloon equipment, we will get in the air (or on the ground for the crew and retrieve).

We have made our application and hope to become affiliated to the British Balloon and Airship Club – our membership will include a copy of ‘Aerostat’ which always contains articles on the experience of other balloonists – information on balloon festivals in the UK and across the globe.

We are thrilled and honored to be supported by our local balloon manufacturer in Oswestry, Lindstrand Technologies.  Owner and founder Per Lindstrand has been building hot air balloons in Oswestry since 1975.
